Why is fencing so expensive?

The cost of fencing depends on factors like length of the fence, type of material, and contractor’s charges. On average, you’ll spend about $2,641 for a fence.
Metal or chain fences are the cheapest; costing about $7- $13 per foot (without labour). By contrast, wood costs $12- $16 per foot, vinyl costs $17- $30 per foot and aluminium costs $26- $40 per foot.
Alternatively, you can choose cost per hour, which is about $30 to $50 an hour.
Beyond these costs, contractors have to make a profit too, and that’s what makes fencing so expensive.
